The caravan of T20 World Cup 2021 has now come to the last 4. England and Australia from Group 1 and Pakistan and New Zealand from Group 2 have entered the semi-finals.

The top team in Group 1 became England, which lost their last league match against South Africa and took the top spot with 4 wins and 8 points. Australia then entered the semi-finals by registering a massive 8-wicket win against West Indies on Saturday.

On the other hand, talking about Group 2, no team has failed to beat Pakistan so far, due to which Pakistan was the top team of Group 2 with 5 wins and 10 points. New Zealand lost just one match against Pakistan and were the second team in Group 2 with 4 wins and 8 points.

Now on the 10th, the first team of Group 1 i.e. England and the second team of Group 2 i.e. New Zealand will face each other. After this, on the 11th, the first team of Group 2 i.e. Pakistan and the second team of Group 2 Australia will face each other.

Interestingly, only one Asian team has made it to the last 4 on the UAE on spin-friendly pitches. Before the start of the semi-finals, let’s take a look at these three teams.

Australia- Initially this team did not seem that special. The team from South Africa won the match in the last over. After this, the team returned to form with the match against Sri Lanka. The team lost to England badly by 8 wickets but with big victories over Bangladesh and West Indies, the team reached the semi-finals.

The best part for the team is that their opener David Warner is back in form. Josh Hazlewood has been consistently taking wickets and spinner Adam Zampa has also taken 5 wickets. Australia has never won a T20 World Cup before and this is their best chance to win a T20 World Cup title.

England- England was the first to beat a team they had never won in the T20 World Cup. After defeating the West Indies by 6 wickets, England continuously dusted the opposite team. In just the last league match they lost against South Africa by 10 runs.

Jos Buttler of England is the only player to score a century in this World Cup. The team also reached the semi-finals without Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer. However, now Jason Roy and Tile Mills are also out. It remains to be seen how England plays in the semi-finals.

New Zealand- New Zealand had cracked down on Pakistan but Malik and Asif turned the match around in the final overs. After defeating India in the next match, their way to the semi-finals was almost clear, which was sealed after Afghanistan’s victory. Although New Zealand won by just 16 runs from a team like Scotland, the team did not get the same bang against Namibia.

Trent Boult is the highest wicket-taker of the team. But the team is not looking that good. There is a lack of rhythm in the players. New Zealand’s team will have a litmus test against England.

Pakistan- Pakistan is the undefeated team of this World Cup and reached the semi-finals without losing 1 match. Team captain Babar Azam is the highest run-scorer (264) of this tournament. From fast bowlers to spinners and from openers to finishers, everyone is playing their role well.

Pakistan’s fielding has also improved in this T20 World Cup, which used to be poor earlier. The other teams are just looking to see where this team is lacking. If it is said that Pakistan is the biggest contender to win the T20 World Cup at this time, then it will not be wrong. (webdunia desk)
