Rahul Dravid’s Team India, every player was selected for a reason

The suggestions given by head coach Rahul Dravid to selector Chetan Sharma were fully implemented. Rohit Sharma was on Tuesday formally named as the new captain of the Indian T20 team for the three-match series against New Zealand, replacing Virat Kohli.

Rahul Dravid is a visionary in Indian cricket. For a year later, he is known as a preparation cricketer from today. Its effect was also visible in the selection process. A year later, the T20 World Cup is to be played in Australia.

Rahul Dravid has taken the first step that the mistakes that happened in this World Cup should not be done in Australia. For this reason, the form was preferred over the big name.

Youth spirit is very important in T20 cricket, due to this a dozen young faces have been given a chance in the team from now on so that by next year they get used to the team environment.

Ruturaj (635 runs), Harshal (32 wickets), Avesh (24 wickets) and Venkatesh (370 runs and 3 wickets) were unanimously selected after their stellar performances in the IPL.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, the highest run-scorer in the Indian Premier League 2021, and Harshal Patel, the highest wicket-taker, have also been included in India’s 16-man squad.

Rohit Sharma (Captain)Rohit Sharma, who scored 3000 runs in T20 International cricket, was given the captaincy because his captaincy record is very good. He has led India to 8 victories in 10 T20 matches. Apart from this, he has won his franchise Mumbai 5 times in IPL.

Rohit Sharma has scored 3038 runs in 116 matches. According to the information so far, he will only open the batting.

KL Rahul (Vice-captain)- If Rohit Sharma is not available in any match, then the captaincy will be handed over to KL Rahul. Rahul has captained Punjab Kings in IPL. After a poor start in the T20 World Cup, KL Rahul scored half-centuries against Afghanistan, Scotland and Namibia. He was given the place because of his form.

Suryakumar Yadav- Suryakumar Yadav could not fulfill the expectations he had in the T20 World Cup but he is Dravid’s trustworthy and very young. Suryakumar Yadav, who scored a blistering half-century against England, is also in the plans of the World Cup to be held in Australia. For this reason he has been given a place in the team.

Ishaan Kishan- Just like Suryakumar’s performance, Ishan Kishan also disappointed in the T20 World Cup. Although he got only one chance but he could not take it. Known for his quick runs, Ishaan will be useful for the team in the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia, due to which another young face was kept in the team. He can also do wicketkeeping when the time comes.

Rishabh Pant- Rishabh Pant, who scored fast against Afghanistan, had an average against Pakistan and poor batting against New Zealand. But this year Pant has shown the level of cricketer he is. He has scored 590 runs in 38 matches played so far.

Shreyas Iyer- Former Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer has been named in the team to provide stability in the middle order. He can be seen in the role of a slightly senior player of the team. He scored 175 runs in 8 matches in IPL 2021. He has also scored 550 runs in 29 T20 matches played for India so far.

Ruturaj Gaikwad-IPL 2021 winning team Chennai Super Kings opener Rituraj Gaikwad has been included in the team. In this season, Gaikwad scored 635 runs in 16 matches at an average of 45. This includes 4 half-centuries and an explosive century (101) against Rajasthan. He hit 64 fours and 23 sixes in this season. Gaikwad was entrusted with the task of speeding up the innings, which he did well. In the final match, he snatched the Orange Cap from KL Rahul. Rituraj made his debut for India during the Sri Lanka series.

Venkatesh Iyer-IPL 2021 runner-up team Kolkata Knight Riders opener Venkatesh Iyer was given a chance in the T20 team against New Zealand.

It will not be an exaggeration to say that it is because of opener Venkatesh Iyer that Kolkata’s team reached the playoffs of IPL 2021. In 10 matches, Iyer scored 370 runs at an average of 41 in which his best score was 67 runs. In this season he scored 4 half-centuries and also took 3 wickets.

Yuzvendra Chahal- Yuzvendra Chahal, who could not be included in the Indian team in the T20 World Cup, has been included in the team. Yuzvendra Chahal became the man of the match in the first T20 on Australia tour. This is also in the focus of team management. Yuzvendra Chahal is the second most successful T20 bowler of India. Chahal has taken 63 wickets in 49 matches.

Ravichandran Ashwin-Only Ravichandran Ashwin is the only player who is very senior and featured in the T20 series against New Zealand. Ravichandran Ashwin got a late chance in the T20 World Cup but he showed his importance in 3 matches by giving only 63 runs and taking 6 wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin has taken the highest number of wickets for India in T20 World Cup so far. He has taken 26 wickets at an average of 15.40 for Team India in 18 matches of 4 World Cups.

Akshar Patel- Spinner Axar Patel also performed well for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021. He took 15 wickets with the ball. At the same time, in the lower order, he can score runs as fast as Jadeja. The team management has made up its mind to give him more chances.

Avesh Khan- Avesh is capable of bowling at a fast pace and has picked up 24 wickets in 16 matches for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2021 season. He was second in the list of highest wicket takers along with Harshal Patel (32 wickets). He was also associated with India’s T20 World Cup team as a net bowler and after losing the second match left for the Syed Mushtaq Trophy.

Bhuvneshwar KumarFast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has probably got the last chance to prove himself. He is nowhere close to his best but has been retained due to his lack of experience in the fast bowling attack.

Deepak Chahar- Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar, who took the best bowling figure and hat-trick in T20 Internationals, has also been included in the team. He has the art of bowling accurately in the dew. For this reason he has been included in the team.

Mohammad Siraj- Mohammad Siraj has become an integral part of India in Test cricket, especially in Test cricket. The next World Cup is in Australia and they have had a great run in Australia. For this reason he has been included in the team. Right now he has been able to take only 3 wickets in 3 T20 matches, but Dravid seems to be in the mood to hone his talent.

Harshal Patel- Purple cap holder Harshal Patel, who is looking for Royal Challengers Bangalore this season, has also been included in the T20 series against the New Zealand team. In the first match against Mumbai, he made a record of taking 5 wickets in the first match of any season. By the end of the tournament, he was Royal Challengers Bangalore and the best performance by any bowler in IPL in terms of wickets. He took 32 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 14.
