Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi said top pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi should have bowled better in the 19th over after the team’s semi-final loss to Australia in the ICC T20 World Cup.
Wicket-keeper batsman Matthew Wade took Pakistan out of the tournament for three consecutive sixes in the last three balls of the over after he was caught in the match played on Thursday.
Shahid said on ‘Sama TV Channel’, “I am not happy with Shaheen’s performance. Hasan Ali dropped the catch, it does not mean that you give three consecutive sixes.
“If Hassan Ali dropped a catch, it doesn’t mean that Shaheen Afridi should have conceded 3 sixes in 3 balls…”

“Shaheen has good pace and should have used it wisely. Even if the catch is missed. He should have used his brain and used his pace to bowl twelve yorkers off the off-stump. He is not the kind of bowler against whom such runs were scored.
Well, if we look at yesterday’s performance, Shaheen Afridi’s performance was not that bad. In 4 overs, he took 1 wicket for 35 runs. Out of this, 22 runs came in the last over.
In the entire T20 World Cup, Shaheen took 7 wickets in 6 matches. In the first match against India, he had thrown Team India into panic by cheaply packing Rahul Rohit and created history by taking the wicket of Virat Kohli in the last overs. He got the man of the match award for taking 3 wickets in this match.
Shaheen is Shahid’s son-in-law
It is worth noting that Shahid Afridi has fixed the relationship of his daughter Aksha with Shaheen Afridi. Shahid Afridi has five daughters. Aksha is 20 years old and is often seen in the stadium with her father to watch matches.
According to sources, both the families have agreed to this relationship. Officially the engagement has not been announced. But there are reports that soon both will get married. Shaheen Afridi’s family took the initiative for this relationship which was readily accepted by Shahid Afridi.
