David Warner continued his strong form and hit a six to reach his third half-century in the final of the T20 World Cup against New Zealand. Earlier in this T20 World Cup, he had scored half-centuries against Sri Lanka and West Indies.
David Warner, who controversially missed a half-century against Pakistan, first thrashed the fast bowlers and then the spin bowlers. As a result, he scored 51 runs in 34 balls. In his innings, he hit 4 fours and 3 sixes. Before returning to the pavilion, David Warner scored 53 runs in 38 balls. He was bowled by Trent Boult. Earlier, Boult had also taken the wicket of Finch.
Earlier, Australia played their natural game in the final of the T20 World Cup and did not let the run-rate affect them even after losing captain Aaron Finch cheaply in the first powerplay. In the first powerplay i.e. 6 overs, Australia scored 43 runs for the loss of 1 wicket.
Just after the dismissal of Aaron Finch, Mitchell Marsh, who was at number 3 in this tournament, targeted Adam Milne and hit 1 six and 2 fours.
Earlier, captain Kane Williamson’s captaincy innings of 85 runs helped New Zealand score a challenging 172 for four in 20 overs in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup against Australia on Sunday.
Playing first after losing the toss, Williamson remained at one end and scored the best of 85 runs off 48 balls with 10 fours and three sixes as Marlon Samuels of West Indies scored an unbeaten 85 in the final of the 2016 T20 World Cup. Equals the best score to make.
The Kiwi captain scored only 18 runs in 19 balls in the first 10 overs but after that he sharpened his temper, hitting 67 runs in 29 balls. Williamson scored 22 runs in the 16th over of Mitchell Starc’s innings, hitting four fours and a six. He was dismissed as the fourth batsman by Josh Hazlewood in the fifth ball of the 18th over. Hazlewood took three wickets for just 16 runs in four overs.
Opener Martin Guptill scored 28 runs in 35 balls with the help of three fours, Daryl Mitchell made 11 runs in eight balls with the help of a six, Glenn Phillips scored 18 runs in 17 balls with the help of one four and one six, James Neesham scored seven runs in seven balls. 13 not out with the help of a six and Tim Seifert scored eight not out off six balls with the help of a four.
