Afghan spinner Rashid Khan turned down Hyderabad’s offer, Warner-Beresto also released

Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan has turned down an offer from Sunrisers Hyderabad in which he was being retained for IPL 2022. Sunrisers Hyderabad have now retained Kane Williamson as well as young J&K players Umran Malik and Abdul Samad. This means that Williamson can now be the permanent captain of Sunrisers.

Rashid Khan will go up for auction in the mega auction and many franchises will be in line for him. Rashid Khan took 18 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 20 in IPL.

Sunrisers CEO K Shanmugam told Star Sports why he let Rashid go. “If any player wants to go to the auction because of the price, we respect his decision. We will see if we can buy him by paying the right price in the auction.” This means that Sunrisers may try to buy Rashid Khan in the Hyderabad auction.

On the other hand, if we talk about the retained players, Kane Williamson has been retained by giving an amount of 14 crores. In the last IPL as a batsman, Kane Williamson scored 266 runs in 10 matches at an average of 44.

Apart from this, two Kashmiri players Abdul Samad and Umran Malik have also been retained. The franchise has kept both of them for 4 -4 crores.
Samad scored 111 runs in 11 matches at an average of 12, although he could take only one wicket in the bowling.

Apart from this, Umran Malik, who played in the last leg of the tournament in place of T- Natarajan, bowled the fastest delivery of the season. Although he took 2 wickets in just 3 matches, he impressed the franchise with his pace and line length.

David Warner, Jonny Bairstow

David Warner also released

New Zealand’s Kane Williamson was given the command of Sunrisers after Warner was removed from the captaincy in the first phase of the IPL. Despite the change of captaincy, Sunrisers’ performance did not improve and the team remained at the bottom of the IPL points table. Warner was not even given a place in the team in the last few matches.

David Warner was the orange cap holder in three IPL seasons but the second half of the IPL was like a nightmare for Warner. Ever since the IPL reached the United Arab Emirates, his bat just stopped. He scored just 2 runs in 2 matches.

In the match played against Delhi Capitals, he could not even open the account and Anrich Nortje got him caught by Axar Patel. At the same time, against Punjab Kings, he made just 2 runs and was caught by wicketkeeper KL Rahul on Shami’s ball. He played a total of 3 balls on both the occasions.

After this performance, the Hyderabad team dropped him from the team and gave England batsman Jason Roy a chance. Apart from this, Hyderabad did not even try to retain Jonny Bairstow. Jonny Bairstow’s performance was not that bad and he scored 248 runs in 7 matches at an average of 41.
