Rain disturbed India and New Zealand teams’ practice session canceled

Mumbai: India and New Zealand had to cancel their practice session at the Wankhede Stadium here on Wednesday due to rain. The pitch at the Wankhede Stadium has been covered as it has been raining since Wednesday morning.
“Team India’s practice session has been canceled due to rain,” BCCI said in a statement.

There is a apprehension that rain can play an important role in the Test to be held in Mumbai as well. In such a situation, the Indian team would like that in this second Test, time is not wasted so much that like the previous match, the victory goes out of hand.

India and New Zealand teams arrived here on Tuesday for the second and final cricket Test to be held at the Wankhede Stadium here from December 3.

Test cricket will return to Mumbai after almost five years. The last Test here was played between India and England in 2016. The Maharashtra government has capped the spectator limit for the match at 25 per cent of the stadium’s capacity.

The first Test between the two teams in Kanpur ended in a draw when all-rounders Rachin Ravindra and Ejaz Patel played 52 balls in an unbroken final wicket partnership to deny India victory.

It is worth noting that this time in the Indian team, captain Virat Kohli will be seen back on the field, he was practicing in Mumbai since the beginning of the first Test. The Indian team will have to make changes in the team they played in Kanpur.
